1. OVERVIEW

HangPlan ("we", "our", "the app") is a social hangout planning app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you use HangPlan, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Email address, display name, and username you provide when signing up.
• Profile data: Profile photo and bio, if you choose to add them.
• App content: Groups you create or join, hangout plans, RSVPs, comments, and saved locations.
• Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver push notifications, stored only if you grant notification permissions.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, browsing history, or any data from other apps on your device.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information solely to:

• Provide and operate the app (authentication, groups, hangout planning).
• Send push notifications you have opted into (new plans, RSVPs, comments, nudges, reminders).
• Display your profile to other members of groups you belong to.

4. DATA STORAGE

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is protected with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access data they are authorized to see. Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage.

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is only shared with:

• Other group members: Your display name, username, profile photo, RSVPs, and comments are visible to members of groups you belong to.
• Service providers: Supabase (database hosting) and Expo (push notification delivery) process your data on our behalf to operate the app.

6. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

If you grant notification permissions, we store your device's push token to send you notifications. You can control which types of notifications you receive in the app's Notification Settings. You can disable notifications entirely through your device settings at any time.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Access your data: View your profile, groups, and hangout information within the app.
• Update your data: Edit your display name, username, bio, and profile photo at any time.
• Delete your data: Leave groups to remove your plans and RSVPs. To fully delete your account and all associated data, use our account deletion page or contact us at the email below.
• Opt out of notifications: Disable specific notification types in the app or disable all notifications in your device settings.

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you leave a group, your plans and RSVPs in that group are deleted. If you request account deletion, all your data will be permanently removed.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

HangPlan is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. ACCOUNT DELETION

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time using our account deletion page. This will remove your profile, groups, hangouts, RSVPs, comments, carpool offers, expense records, and messages.
